The First Nations of Montana include Crow, Kootenai, Salish, Pend D’Oreille, Little Shell Chippewa, Chippewa Cree, Blackfeet, Northern Cheyenne, Sioux, Assiniboine, and Gros Ventre.
The state of Montana covers a large and diverse area of land, ranging from prairie to mountains (southern end of the Rockies). There are 65,000 native people in Montana, from an equally diverse range of tribes, all with a proud history.
